I think you hit on something when you referred to the calenders being 'corrupt'. I think that is the way it's supposed to be....just like everything in this world. It might also explain in part the 'no man knows the day', since, well, we really don't know what 'day' it is, now do we? If everything is thrown off, if the 'seasons' aren't matching up to the 'feasts' for those 'seasons', then, yep, we don't know the true 'day' we are at right now.
