"Re: Robin MacAhan - To Those Here Who Feel God Has Abandoned Them"
Dear Robin,
First, I thank you
for taking the time and providing the effort to create and send your
inspiring message to anyone experiencing the feeling of abandonment
that you felt through the many years of your early life. I am so glad
to hear that you are now doing so much better and that life is good for
you. Your testimony is valuable and important to everyone who reads it
and gets to know your experience, God bless you for sending it out!
Do
you think God had you go through those terrible experiences for a
reason? Not, of course, to simply torture you for his enjoyment, for we
know he is not a cruel God but the only Being whose very nature is
love. He cannot abandon us, anymore than any dedicated mother can
abandon any of her children. Not, unfortunately like some of the
mothers that you were exposed to who had serious and unresolved
problems in their lives and need God's help perhaps even more than you
did.
Of course, one reason he allowed this to happen to
you was for the testimony you are providing here and elsewhere that
will help others look up and realize that God does truly love them and
CANNOT abandon them ever. You are and will continue to be a living
example of how God's love and caring nature will in the end bless
everyone who trusts in him for their help, both salvation and
sanctification. Keep up your valuable effort in spreading the word in
this many times evil world, Robin, for many need to hear from you!
God
may have other reasons for your bad experiences that you and we may not
know of or understand until we see him in heaven. But you are beginning
to understand I think from reading your message that God is a loving
and kind being who does not delight in seeing any of his children
suffer. Many have had experiences similar to yours, but less severe
perhaps, and have seen how everything comes out right in the end.
Actually, the Bible says "But without faith it is impossible to please
him; for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is
a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Heb 11:6)
I
assume, of course, that you have accepted Jesus as Lord and Saviour. If
you have not, I pray you will be moved by God's spirit to do so. You
have much to be thankful for and do well to express your thanksgiving
publicly that others might be encouraged. Keep up your good works for
the Lord and remind others that it was your unrelenting faith that at
last proved effective in bringing you to your springtime of life.
God bless and keep you, Robin, always in his loving care.
YBIC
