"To Kamie"
Dear Kamie,
You are very
welcome and I thank you for the kind words. It was truly my great
privilege to be given the opportunity to supply that prayer for you, as
I know that God places a great value on you, and all of His trusting,
and untrusting, children. Thank you for making your needs known, Kamie.
I am learning every day to truly appreciate opportunities to serve our
Lord.
It is interesting that you wrote that the prayer
brought tears to your eyes. As you may already suspect, the prayer was
written with the help of the Holy Spirit and I also shed tears as it
was written -- tears of inner joy knowing we have a truly compassionate
and merciful God who loves us and is interested in our well-being.
Kamie, He wants to help with every detail that concerns us--nothing is
too small, as He said He cares even for the sparrow. I asked that my
prayer would cause you too, as well as other readers, to shed a few
tears as you sensed God's presence, mercy and empathy in the words that
He led me to write. I know He will help solve your every problem,
Kamie, but you must trust Him implicitly to do so! I mean really,
really trust, knowing that you do not know the solution and need His
help. He will hear your prayer and come to your rescue as He promised
never to forsake us.
Today I am moved to share with you a
few Bible (KJV) verses that have helped me a lot in the past: Proverbs
3:5-6 and Isaiah 26:3. These verses place emphasis on OUR role, or
side, of trusting and GOD'S side of providing peace and direction in
our lives (for more on these two distinct roles see God's side and
Man's side in the link to Hannah Whitall Smith's book The Christian's
Secret of a Happy Life (
http://library.timelesstruths.org/texts/The_Christians_Secret_of_a_Happy_Life/.
) Reading just this one chapter in Hannah's book can bring great
blessings into your life. To reap even greater inner joy and happiness
consider arising early each day to listen to hymns, or just to meditate
in the silence listening for His voice--but be warned to have tissues
at the ready because the presence of the Lord in the silence can bring
many joyful tears, it seems that divine thoughts are almost too much
for our weak human frames to bear!
To achieve a happy
life, Kamie, living in accord with God's desires for us, Scripture
tells us clearly that we should share our troubles and cares with our
Creator--He knows how we are made and knows exactly what we need at any
moment of our lives. We do not need to find solutions to problems, just
trust Him to do His part. Remember, that is exactly what you did when
you took the new job, trusting that the leading of the Holy Spirit
would in the end lead to the best solution.
I am not
perfect, but I have trusted God mightily in the past, but only, it
pains me to admit, when there were no other options that I could think
of on my own. I was taught to think that God helps those who help
themselves. There is some truth in that saying, but it is not always
the right course, and in most cases is not conducive to developing our
faith and trust in God. I now know that it is His desire that we
start and end with Him, not with our often pathetic options, and am now
firmly resolved to trust first and last in God to meet my needs.
Your
request for prayers and my response by writing the prayer reinforced my
resolve. Thanks again for making your needs known, it was a pleasure to
be able to provide a little help to you (from the Holy Spirit).
May our truly merciful and loving God bless and keep you always in His protective care, Kamie.
In Christ our Saviour and Lord,
Robert
