"Will only 50% of Christians go to Heaven?"

Will only 50% of Christians go to Heaven?

There is much controversy about when the Rapture will occur, and particularly in reference to the 7 year tribulation period. Some believe it's before the tribulation, some believe it's after, some believe it's in the middle and still others believe it's somewhere in between. Does it really matter? What is really important is that at some point in time, Jesus is coming back to take his Church home to be with him. As long as we are busy debating the WHEN, Satan is successfully keeping us from discovering the WHO.

Who will go to Heaven and be part of the wedding banquet?

Matthew 25:1-13 The Parable of the Ten Virgins

1 “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. 2 Five of them were foolish and five were wise. 3 The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. 4 The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. 5 The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.
6 “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
7 “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
11 “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’
12 “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’
13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

Non-Christians aren't expecting Him and wouldn't be waiting, so this is certainly not talking about them. This parable states that 50% of CHRISTIANS will not be ready and will be outside when the door is shut. It is important that we watch and are longing for his soon return. That we remained focused on him. That absolutely nothing is more important in our lives than Jesus and his soon return. Luke 21:36 Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man.” If worldly things are more important than Him and we are not watching and praying, we are considered to be lukewarm. Revelation 3:16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. Are you watching for his soon return or are cares of the world more important to you? Many signs, dreams, and visions are happening that indicate a very soon time frame for His return. Possibly before the end of 2010 or even in the next couple weeks. It is important we get right with God and then wake as many people as possible out of their lukewarm states. Our family and friends are very important to us and we should do everything possible to make sure they make it to Heaven. Even if it causes us embarrassment or people to think we are crazy. Do you think Jesus was too embarrassed when he died on the cross for us? You can't get any more humiliating than that. We certainly don't want to stand before the Son of Man and explain why we didn't even attempt to reach <fill in the blank>.
