"THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'WATCHING' AND 'WAITING' FOR THE LORD"
Dear Doves,
I believe that the
difference between 'watching' or merely 'waiting' for the Lord to
appear is the difference between the 'wise virgins' and the 'foolish
virgins'. Yes, the wise virgins also fell asleep, but they had brought
extra oil for their lamps so that their lamps burned brightly wnen they
awoke at the moment the bridegroom arrived. The foolish virgins lamps
were nearly out of oil.
Remember, "the bridegroom was a long
time in coming" just as it is today. The wise virgins are truly
'watching' for the appearance of the Bridegroom, while the foolish
virgins are merely 'waiting' for Him. The wise virgins the tenacity it
takes to 'watch' no matter how long it takes.
Come Lord Jesus, your 'wise virgins' are 'watching' for your appearance!
