"Gary, I too have experienced what you describe"
John 15:
20. Remember the
word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If
they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have
kept my saying, they will keep yours also.
21. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.
Gary,
I too have experienced what you describe.
I
wish it could be otherwise but I have discovered over the years that to
know God through Jesus is to have to experience these kinds of things
from people who you thought should have been friends and fellow
believers. To know the Father you must seek Him above this world and
many have not been instructed in that but rather have just added Jesus
onto their lives or received from Him His gifts even the way that He
fed the multitudes with the loaves and fishes. They were glad for the
gifts but were not willing to submit their lives and become disciples.
Therefore they cannot come to know God and the above scripture is the
result.
Few are chosen indeed though many are called. I am sorry for them but glad for you. Rejoice for your reward in heaven is great!
