"serious flu info, succesive waves and poor herd immunity"
Just spoke to the local ICU doctor.
Much of this info is on
http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/
2 weeks ago 10 of our 11 beds were on ventilators, mostly the flu.
26,000 people were hospitalized last month for the flu in the US.
3.000 died.
That is a high mortality rate.
The majority of the people who died were between 20- 45 years old.
The flu is coming in waves and their is poor herd immunity.
That is, there are not many that have received an immunization.
Several of these people have necrotizing lung, rotting lung because of the type of infection.
I saw a cat scan of a 21 year old and there was huge areas of locked in pus and tissue breakdown.
The man I took care of who was 45 and had 3 kids died.
The average stay for someone with the flu who gets ventilated is 4-6 weeks.
If
you look at the diagrams on the link I provided you will see that we
are way ahead in numbers of cases from the previous years for the
amount of time that has transpired.
If this trend continues it could become very dangerous.
This diagram is the 8th one down, lab confirmed hospitalization rates.
