BTW, did any of you get a chance to watch, "Mortal Storm" yesterday afternoon?  It was on TCM.... it stars Jimmy Stewart (one of my all time favs, of course!),  Robert Young, & I forget the name of the lady in it.  It's an old B & W ~ made in the '40's, IIRC....

 

Anyway, while I didn't watch it this afternoon -- I just thought WHAT INCREDIBLE TIMING to play it RIGHT NOW-- right before the election....   B/c what it's about is how THEE BEST OF FRIENDS can SOO QUICKLY become mortal enemies -- as this one was based on Hitler taking power & while most of Germany saw it as a "good thing" ~ yet it quickly divided the BEST of friends, family, and romantic relationships!!

 

Even the "fiance" of Robt Young (in the movie -- I've forgotten their character names, cause it's been a good while since I've seen it)..... but in the end, even though they were once so close to being married.... Robt Young gives the command to fire on her & her new boyfriend.... as they try to ESCAPE out of there!!

 

It's not the "happiest" of movies -- b/c you expect w/this all star cast -- everyone's gonna' break into singing "the hills are alive with the sound of music" at the very end.... sadly, that's not what happens.

 

VERY EYE OPENING!!

 

And when I first saw it -- I couldn't HELP but to think of the RELATIONSHIPS that the "BO" campaign is tearing apart!!   Our family, for one.

 

So I can only imagine when the REAL AC ("whoever" he is) comes on the scene -- how this will be EXACTLY like "Mortal Storm"!!!
