"Does America need a recession"

I think God had a built in plan to relieve the stresses that cause recessions and depressions.  In the Old Testament, the land (means of production) could not be lost permanently, only rented for a period of time.  This was actually good stewardship-God rewards the productive but won't destitute families permanently.  He said to take one year off every seventh and He would provide enough in the sixth year cover the 6th and 7th year.  Once in a man's lifetime, ie, once every 50 years, He told the Israelites to take off 2 years - the 49th and 50th year ( the year of jubilee) and He would provide.  I think it is interesting that in the world today, we seem to suffer a great depression every 60-70 years.  We've managed to stretch it a little further by inflating the world with our fiat money.  The chickens are about to come home to roost.  What a world we would in if all obeyed God in His economic plan - one day in seven off, one year in seven off, once in a lifetime - a two yea!

, (49th & 50th).  God has a great plan but alas, we don't learn nor obey nor most don't really believe.  I know  there are plenty of reasons to think this is a foolish economic plan; to paraphrase a more learned man than myself, Christianity hasn't been tried and found wanting - it hasn't been fully tried.

God bless you for this forum and May His Kingdom Come! Amen.
