I hear ya.  There is much opposition from evil beings when people try to read the scriptures, especially
 
the unsaved. Satan is real and he and the demonic spirits all know that at whatever cost, they must
 
keep a person out of the Word of God and if He does read it...they will question the Word. These
 
demons say such things as 'oh , that isn't right. There is a mis translation there." Other times, they
 
say such things as "Did God really mean that? I know He said it, but is that what He really meant?"
 
They they will go on to say 'I think He meant this or that (something opposite of what God said).
 
Just a continual barrage of rubbish from the enemies of God. Other things like "Oh, that stuff is passed
 
away, no need for healings now." and on and on .
 
I have a family member who reads a lot on the internet who will say in argument against the scripture....
 
"but I READ it.' as though reading something makes it true or "I am hearing it everywhere." She would
 
read just about anything but the scriptures...as they are the Words of LIfe, they are TRUTH, and
 
a light to our pathways. Course there will be opposition to the Words of Life.
 
This just a funny incident. Years and years ago, my earthly Father sold Bibles,etc. and trained salesmen
 
on making presentations. While doing this, one man said his Mothers favorite scripture was
 
"every tub sets on it's own bottom".  Well,my dad commented that while that was true, it wasn't an
 
actual scripture that a person could quote. The man got angry and screaming (this a new salesman),
 
and told my dad that he should knock him out cold for disrespecting his mother! ohj lol lol lol
 
The man said, "If my Mother said it is in the Bible, then it is." lol lol lol
