My mother is actually from Baranquilla and is living in the US. I was born in Cartagena and moved to the US as a child. I know that Colombia is a land of great financial contrast - the very wealthy and the destitute. The middle class as we know it in the US is a very small part of the population. I also know that getting aid to these people is difficult due to the deep corruption permeating the government. In spite of this God will make a way.
