Hi John and DovesMu husband Dean had an interesting dream last night (11/9) which he feels certain was from the Lord. Here are his diary notes on it. Comments regarding its interpretation are always welcome. I thought that the timing of Halloween curios, then fall curios in the gift shop, followed by a big meal (perhaps Thanksgiving) after which the bright light & rising (symbolic of Rapture) ensued was interesting! Our job in the meantime as believers is clear;y stated in the dream. We are to reflect Christ.
In Christ,
Sandy
The Dream Itself:
I am in a small diner/restaurant, it has a gift shop in the front, both rather low end, not very nice. I work there (strange for a software person who never did work in a restaurant). All the customers are gone, us workers are having a meeting. All imaginary folks, no real life people I know. We talk about life experiences, etc. Then we start to prepare a make shift holiday meal, nothing big and fancy, j(ust each one in the kitchen then back and forth to the seating area making preparations, everyone in a good mood. I go to the gift shop, it has Halloween motifs that I find offensive. The girl working behind the counter is unhappy, not part of our celebration in the diner. I go back in the kitchen, more preparations. I start bringing food out to eat. I go back to the gift shop, now it has a fall motif, the counter girl is happier. At that point I walk out the front door. I notice my reflection in the window, is just plain old me.
I start walking, thru the parking lot, thru a meadow, a trail, then to another big parking lot, into a very large church, that seated tens of thousands. It has a wrap around corridor with plate glass windows all the way around. I walk inside and down the corridor for a long ways, maybe a quarter mile. In the whole corridor are maybe a few hundred people, just making small talk. No one is inside the sanctuary. I feel it is a waste of my time to be here, so walk out a door back into the parking lot. I see my reflection in a window, I am dressed in first century Holy Land dress, but with modern boat shoes, ie made for walking. As I am walking thru the parking lot I see a young girl in a sporty car using the church's dumpster to dump her own trash in. I say hi, then continue walking. She just stares at me then drives off. As I pass the dumpster I see myself on it's shiny metal surface, I look more like Christ with longer hair, a small beard, etc.
I walk thru another meadow, has nice horses in it. Then I am on a wooded trail. After going a few hundred yards down it I notice it is starting to get dark. There are nice large houses on the left side of the trail, their back yards face the trail. At the rear of one house in the hedges in the very back of the yard that abuts the trail is a Latin man, very small and thin, doing yard work. He points to the house and says emphatically that I must go in and help them. I say that I do not want to scare them, a stranger walking up in their back yard as night approaches. He says they are desperately in need. I think to myself "Ok what would Jesus do in this situation". So I raise my hands to my side and start to slowly rise in the air. The gardener gets really excited, I smile at him and say "How is this?" meaning do you think flying will help get their attention in the house. He waves bye as I fly over the house. The lights inside are on now, it is almost dark outside but not totally. I fly over the left front side of the house, on the right front on the second story is a nice family room with a large plate glass window, you can see the entire room thru it. Both parents, a boy about 14 and girl about 12 are seated there. The room has nice fixtures, musical instruments, big TV, etc. The four are just sitting there not using any of them, very sad and mad. The girl sees me and points, starts jumping up and down. The others take notice. At this point I see my reflection in the window and I look exactly as I think Christ looked while on the earth. I smile at them, open my arms, I see a bright light, then the dream ends and I awaken.
Things I felt during the dream:
Those of us in the diner are low income but happy, being together, sharing life's trials. The girl in the gift shop does not want to be part of our celebration, is lost.
The church was dead even though large and impressive, the members were wasting time and resources spiritually and treating the church like a social club. I did not want any part of it, walked away from it to what God wanted me to do. The young girl in the parking lot was using the church and not appreciative of it.
The gardener was poor and meek but spiritually wealthy and strong. The family in the nice house were materialistic, miserable, represented many here in in my community. As I rose above the house I felt I should be doing the things the Lord did while He was on the earth. As my life goes on I should become more like Christ every day till I am transparent and people don't see me, just Him. Once my job here was complete it was time for me to go to heaven.
Interpretations after awakening:
The gift shop changing from Halloween to Fall motifs means the passage of time.
The horses and meadows were life's pleasant times, the parking lots life's hard times. The trails and my walking signified life's journey.
My physical transformation of looking like the Lord during His time on earth is symbolic of the change inside us as we grow in Him. Much of the time people in the U.S. spend in church is a waste, it is not what God wants us to do. We should be doing His work, praying, healing the sick, reaching the lost; church is not supposed to be a feel good social club.
The gardener is symbolic of many people poor in this world but who recognize and are looking for God, the family was oblivious and only recognized God when seen in His full glory, i.e. not during their normal lives, and given that it was almost night, it could mean that they missed the rapture and were too late.
