Though I believe part of this posting may be true, I believe much of it is taken out of context. Strom is leading us to believe the Babylon in Rev. Ch 17 is the U.S. Many people try to do this, but they are wrong. USA is not Babylon and trying to make it "fit" that mold does not work. Sure - the US is full of some of the same sins of Babylon, but so are many of the other nations of the world - nations like the U.K., Finland, Norway, Sweden, Japan, Mexico, Germany, etc. etc. There are 2 verses that every single person totally forgets about in Chapter 17 of  Revelations when they try to make the US fit this "mold." The angel tells John that this woman sits on seven hills and she is DRUNK with the blood & the martyrs of Jesus. Now what city sits on 7 hills AND is drunk with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus? Well - folks, it is Rome. It was pagan Rome and it was also papal Rome. Remember that it was not the Jews that crucified Jesus, it was the ROMANS. Romans killed the apostle Peter and chopped off the head of Paul and killed most of the other apostles!  It was the Romans who began an extensive persecution of believers, including banishing John to the Isle of Patmos. Then, along comes papal Rome who was responsible for murdering millions (the Albigensians, the Lollards, the Hugenots, etc. etc.) oh - and let's don't forget the Dark Ages and the Inquisition where millions of Christians were killed because they wanted the Bible in their OWN language (something Rome prohibited) or because they wouldn't go along with the canniBAALism of the eucharist that Rome borrowed from paganism - so she exhumed and burned up the bones of  John Wycliffe because he dared to translate an English Bible, burned people like John Huss and Girolamo Savonarola (who was tortured, hanged and then burned because he disagreed with the pope), not to mention thousands of their followers. And don't forget the purpose of the "crusades" which was to get the "holy land" back from the pagans (for the pope of course!) and the many jews and others that were killed by the crusaders. You do realize that anyone not on the side of the pope was considered a "pagan," don't you?   The USA is not guilty of the blood of the martyrs of Jesus and  the prophets and the saints ---she does NOT sit on seven hills - ROME does --- and Rome is Babyon - pagan Rome and papal Rome. All baby Christians out there need to read "Fox's Book of Martyrs."  Pagan Rome did not dry up and go away - she just changed her robes and became papal Rome.   If you don't believe this - you will - once you see how involved the current and next pope get with the peace talks in Israel. The pope wants to get his hands on Jerusalem and has always believed that he owns Jerusalem because he wears a THREE-tiered crown and BELIEVES that he is the Vicar of God. Rome has always consorted with the crown heads of Europe and changed her political agenda to suit the rule of the day (e.g. she had a concordat with Hitler and had no problem getting along with Mussolini).
 
There are many saved, born-again Christians in this religious system, too naive to come out, but God says "Come out of her, my people that ye be not partaker of her sins." She has a GOLD cup in her hand full of the filthiness of her abominations. Now, who in the WORLD do you know that is symbolized by a GOLD cup - a chalice? You see the pope raise one of them things every time he does a Mass and so does every priest of Rome at every mass they perform.  Some of the priests got a little nervous about that "gold cup" in Rev. and didn't want people to associate them with Rev. Ch 17 -- so they don't use the gold cup anymore - they use brass or glass or pewter or China or some other ingredient. And being decked with all manner of gold and precious stones? This church is one of the wealthiest organizations on the face of the earth. Don't believe it? ONE diocese alone just paid out over 40 million dollars in fees for charges of abusing children (e.g. pedophile priests). Where do you think that much of the Jewish gold confiscated from the Jews by the Germans went? Much of it went to Rome!  Again, while the US is guilty of some of the sins of Babylon and God will judge her accordingly, but she is NOT the Babylon of Rev. 17. It is ROME. And though the ancient city of Babylon is slowly being resurrected (first by Sadam Hussein because he thought of himself as Nebuchardnezzar), but secondly by all the big buildings that the US is throwing up over there since the war with Iraq. It is very possible that this or a future pope will have a "seat" at Babylon, but he will also have a "seat" at Rome and a "seat" at Jerusalem.
