Dear Doves,I think that we are all hoping for the Rapture to occur before the end of this year. I just wanted to point out a possible confirmation for this in the Psalm-to-Month Theory. (Please keep in mind that this is only conjecture!) I first heard about this theory from other Doves. First from Gary Rich (http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/jan2007/garyr118-2.htm) and then, after I checked the archives, from Sam Orlando (http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/dec2005/samo125.htm).
The theory correlates the Book of Psalms to consecutive months in the 21st Century. According to the theory, Psalm 81 corresponds to September 2007. “Sound the ram’s horn at the New Moon, and when the moon is full, on the day of our Feast; this is a decree for Israel, an ordinance of the God of Jacob.” Psalm 81:4-3. What struck me is that Psalm 81 mentions Rosh Hashanah and the Feast of Tabernacles – and both holidays occurred in September 2007. If this is a confirmation of the theory, and not just a coincidence, then Psalms 82 – 84 may hint to certain events.
Psalm 82 (October 2007) talks about God making a judgment about the track records of the “gods.” We find out in verse 6-7 that He is actually talking to human rulers. “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High. But you will die like mere men; you will fall like every other ruler.” In verse 2, He asks these rulers: “How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?” If we look at the events of October 2007, it is interesting to see the amount of activity among the leaders of the world with regard to the Middle East. For example, Condoleezza Rice spent the month trying to organize a peace summit which will result in the division of the land of Israel. Vladimir Putin also visited Iran and expressed Russia’s loyalty to it.
Psalm 83 (November 2007) talks about Muslim nations forming an alliance against Israel. “‘Come,’ they say, ‘let us destroy them as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.’ With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you – the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, of Moab and the Hagrites, Gebal, Ammon and Amalek, Philistia, with the people of Tyre. Even Assyria has joined them to lend strength to the descendants of Lot.” Psalm 83:4-8. I actually refrained from submitting this post for two weeks. I decided that I would only post it if I saw the forming of a Muslim alliance this month. You can imagine my excitement when Tony Ellsworth and Jan Mikael posted the same story from the Haaretz site: http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/nov2007/tonye1122.htm The story concerns a meeting that is currently taking place among Arab nations. They are attempting to reach a consensus position before the up-coming Annapolis conference.
Psalm 84 (December 2007) may be the Psalm for us Rapture watchers. “Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Blessed are those whose strength is in you, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage. As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:4-7. Could this mean that autumn will be the season of our pilgrimage? Will we be in heaven by December? Several Doves have expressed their belief that the Rapture could occur this Fall. Perhaps the Psalm-to-Month theory confirms this possibility. Hope so, but, regardless of whether it does or not, let us not get discouraged. We are told to watch for His coming. May He find us always watching.
Maranatha.
