"the "mystery" in Mystery
Babylon"
With all the speculation about who or what Mystery
Babylon is, I decided to do a word study of the word mystery in the Bible.
I was surprised to see that the word mystery is only used in the N. T.
and then only 22 times. 19 of those times it is spoken of with positive
attributes and the 2 Tim. and Rev. references are prophetic and show negative
attributes. The word mystery is associated with words like treasure
of wisdom and knowledge, inheritance, for our and Gods glory. It
has to do with the N. T. Christian being grafted into the Olive Tree after
other branches have been cut off......All seems to point to our inheritance
in Christ for the ages to come. Then this Mystery Bablyon appears
and if you associate these attributes to this woman who is in a position
of regal power -dressed in purple and scarlet, has been in a position to
kill the prophets and saint, a harlot....... Well, look at Ezk. 16
and you will see this same "woman". Here is woman given inheritance,
power, created for their and Gods glory, supposed to be full of wisdom
and knowledge...... and it has gone wrong through her harlotry with the
world powers. I agree with Eddie, I see this Mystery Babylon as being
the ultimate betrayal by Gods wife (Isreal) prior to their return
to him. I think with the rebuilding of the new temple, the restoration
of temple worship and cooperation with the anti christ, it will bring the
world power for a time to Isreal -after the rapture has happened and during
atleast the first part of the tribulation. Then complete destruction.....
All of this happens to help bring Isreal back to God as a nation and back
to their blessed role of wife/co-ruler with God on this earth. I
pray it won't be long before we find out for sure. Blessings to all....
