Dear John and all Doves,
The symbol of a star with 8 points was dominant with art work/graphics for the recent conference this week. Here are some things I have learned from research. An 8 pointed star is a Christian symbol of a star of redemption. It symbolizes regeneration of a sinner through faith in Christ/Messiah. A baptismal font often is 8 sided. It is the shape of a chancel window, as well.
A star with 8 points is also called a compass star. It is also a gnostic symbol, called the octagon of creation. It is also an 8 point chaosphere with order 90 degrees and chaos 45 degrees. What does it mean for an 8 pointed star to be within a circle?
This is a star awareness time of year as many reflect upon the star of Bethlehem. "When you see these things begin to happen, look up. Your redemption draws near." Let us do His work, while His light is with us. Bless you, doves. With Love and Shalom,
Jean Stepnoski
