"Daniel 8:5-7 "Literally""

Daniel 8:5 – As I was thinking about this, suddenly a goat with a prominent horn between his eyes came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground.

The key words in this “Prophecy” are “West” and “Without Touching the Ground”. As I look at this I can say that yes Alexander the Great did fulfill most of Daniel 8, but this verse was not “Literally” fulfilled, and that is “Important”.  So, has any nation ever fulfilled this verse “Literally”?  Well, looking back on history, No nation has fulfilled this verse; actually no nation has had the capability to “Literally” fulfill this verse, until just recently.

In 2003 the United Sates of America “Literally Fulfilled” this verse. If you read on you will also find that we “Literally” fulfill verse 7 that was not fulfilled by Alexander. Also, the Hebrew word in my Interlinear Bible for “Prominent” in verse 5 is translated as “Conspicuous” as in it stood out above all other horns, or the World's only Superpower.

Daniel 8:6-7 – He came toward the two-horned ram I had seen standing beside the canal and charged at him in great rage. I saw him attack the ram furiously, striking the ram and shattering his two horns. The ram was powerless to stand against him; the goat knocked him to the ground and trampled on him, and none could rescue the ram from his power.

Daniel 8:8 – The goat became very great, but at the height of his power his large horn was broken off, and in its place four prominent horns grew up toward the four winds of heaven.

We fulfilled verse 7 by attacking in 1991 and destroying one army (the first horn), and then going back in 2003 and destroying the second army (the second horn). This then leads to Daniel 8:8 in which the Nation that fulfilled the previous verses is “Destroyed” and four other Powers rise up. It is out of one of those nations that the One that “Desecrates” the rebuilt Temple will come.  Notice; that the nation in verse 8 is destroyed very quickly by God, in Alexander's case he died and his four generals divided the Empire, but for the US it would have to be more than the death of a president.

This was shown to me back in 1991 when I had the privilege to be apart of the first step in fulfilling this verse, and I've been keeping an eye on it. At the time that this prophecy was given Iran and Iraq were one country, and we may have to attack Iran (second horn?) to complete the literal fulfillment of verse 7, but Iran has to be intact enough to head into Ez 38-39.

Doves Feedback is welcome.

Jim Bramlett - Thank you for your post!  I've been debating weather or not I should post this, because I've not heard anyone talk about this before.

" In addition, a strong case can be made that America and the 1991 Gulf War are referred to in Daniel 8, with Iraq the ram, and America the goat which "came from the west, crossing the whole earth without touching the ground" (verse 5, NIV), seemingly our massive intercontinental air and sea lift. In verse 8, the goat is later "broken," or destroyed. We know from verses 20-21 that Media, Persia and Greece were the first fulfillments, but from elsewhere, such as verse 17, we know that the vision, in a dual fulfillment, is for "the time of the end." The above seems more plausible when the following is considered...."

Oh, and for those that understand that there are no coincidences:
