Didn't Ron Paul say that he would not defend Israel.

Dale,

I don't think Israel needs the kind of "help" America has been offering under the last two administrations (the past 17 years).  Wouldn't you agree?

A citizen asked Ron Paul about his stand on Israel and the North American Union.  See You Tube belowRon Paul responded that he is NOT in favor of the North American Union, he is in favor of the sovereignty of both the US and Israel.

With regard to Israel, Ron Paul pointed out that Israel has many NUKES and a state of the art military, so in all likelihood they won't need the US support.  No one is going to attack Israel knowing that they stand to be nuked to "smitherenes" as a direct result.  So, Israel's nukes provide a balance of power in the middle east.  IF Israel were attacked and needed the U.S. military support, Ron Paul said it is the duty of Congress (not the President) to debate the matter, and IF Congress and Senate decide it is in the U.S.'s best interests to aid Israel militarily, then Congress and Senate will DECLARE that aid.  Ron Paul is in favor of restoring our eroded Constitution.  Congress is suppose to declare war not the President.  The President can recommend it, but it is up to House and Senate to declare war.

Ron Paul also pointed out that every time the U.S. "helps" Israel in financial aid, it comes with "strings attached", in that the US starts interfering with Israel's matters, and Israel must OBEY the U.S., as we have seen very clearly under both the Bush and Clinton administrations.  Israel has been HURT by this type of American "help".  We literally paid Israel to give up the Gaza, which has been a war zone ever since.  Israel doesn't need any more of this type of "help".  Personally, I think they would be far better off without our  interference.  I think God would agree too.

In my opinion, Ron Paul is a breath of badly needed fresh air and common sense.  He is NOT a member of the Council on Foreign Relations which promotes a godless globalist agenda.
