Power 139 Prayer ... 11/3/07 ... Moses Didn't Forget
His Staff Size: 24 KB
Hello "All",
The Lord said to Moses ...
Ex 4:2 The Lord said to him, "What is that in your hand?"
And he said, " A staff."
10 Then Moses said to the Lord, "Please, Lord, I have
never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have
spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue."
11 The Lord said to him, "Who has made man's mouth? Or
who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
12 "Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth,
and teach you what you are to say."
13 But he said, "Please, Lord, now send the message by
whomever You will."
14 Then the anger of the Lord burned against Moses,
and He said, "Is there not your brother Aaron the Levite? I know that he
speaks fluently. And moreover, behold, he is coming out to meet you; when
he sees you, he will be glad in his heart.
15 "You are to speak to him and put the words in his
mouth; and I, even I, will be with your mouth and his mouth, and I will
teach you what you are to do.
16 "Moreover, he shall speak for you to the people; and
he will be as a mouth for you and you will be as God to him.
17 "You shall take in your hand this staff, with which
you shall perform the signs."
19 Now the Lord said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to
Egypt, for all the men who were seeking your life are dead."
20 So Moses took his wife and his sons and mounted them
on a donkey, and returned to the land of Egypt. Moses also took the staff
of God in his hand.
Moses [i propose] is the greatest negotiator in all scripture.
In his first encounter with God, Moses is told that he is to bring the
Israelites out of Egypt and that God has heard His people's cries after
400 plus years of slavery. Moses immediately declares his inadequacy and
begins to ... negotiate [if you will] ... provision to accomplish what
God had set before him. Moses said, "I am slow of speech and slow of tongue"
... this is hard for me to grasp as Moses went to Egypt with:
1] God was with him ... Ex 3:12
2] The elders of Israel would listen to Moses and go
with him ... Ex 3:18
3] God would perform signs and wonders through Moses
... Ex 4:3,6,9
4] Moses' brother Aaron would be his mouthpiece to the
Egyptians and the Israelites ... Ex 4:14
5] God would be with Moses' mouth and Aaron's mouth ...
Ex 4:15-16
6] God would teach Moses and Aaron what to do and what
to say ... Ex 4:15-16,12
7] God reminded Moses to take his staff with him ...
Ex 4:17
8] Moses was not to fear as the men in Egypt who sought
his life were dead ... Ex 4:19
If we ponder these scriptures we can readily see that
God's provision is more that adequate when we are walking in His will for
our lives ... when we are walking in the works that He has called us to
do since before the foundation of time. He will not fail us!
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ
Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk
in them.
It is said of David that he was a man after God's own
heart and when we read the Psalms we can easily come into agreement that
this is true. However, greater detail is revealed of David's desire to
please our God ... in Acts 13:22 we read:
Acts 13:22 … I HAVE FOUND DAVID the son of Jesse, A MAN
AFTER MY HEART, who will do all My will .'
"Who will do all my will" ... again we see God's provision
for someone who was determined to follow the Father's path for their lives
... to do "ALL" of God's will. Jesus said, "My food is to do the will of
Him who sent Me and to accomplish His work." [John 4:34] and to Him was
given all authority. [Matt 28:18]. Yes, these were mighty men of scripture
and our God desires that we, individually, walk in the fullness of the
measure that we have been given.
The same is true of our children and we must pray that
they will follow the Father's path for their lives ... that they will walk
in their "promised land" ... anything less and outside of this will lead
to some kind of captivity and great loss.
Neh 9:35-37
35 … With Your great goodness which You gave them,
With the broad and rich land which You set before them, Did not serve You
or turn from their evil deeds.
36 "Behold, we are slaves today, And as to the land which
You gave to our fathers to eat of its fruit and its bounty, Behold, we
are slaves in it.
37 " Its abundant produce is for the kings . .
. They also rule over our bodies And over our cattle as they please,
So we are in great distress.
Ponder this ... do you think that Solomon asked for an
understanding heart on his own? We must remember that Solomon was asleep
when God asked "what do you want"? In his sleep, Solomon's responded an
"understanding heart" or some versions ... "wisdom". Was Solomon this wise
at that time in his life [in his sleep] ... no! It was a father's prayer
... it was an answer to David's prayer for his son when he asked God to
give Solomon a "perfect heart" and David proclaimed his desire before the
people. Talk about a changed life story ... [if you would like the scripture
addresses for this please email] and answered prayer. When David took care
of kingdom business in his prayers for his son ... God took care of Solomon
on earth by answering his father's prayer and by giving Solomon far greater
than what he had asked for.
You see, the only thing Moses had to remember [verse
17] when he left for Egypt was to take his staff. We are told that God
was with him, that he had the power to perform signs and wonders, that
God had promised to teach Moses what to do and say, and that Aaron would
be his mouthpiece. But it was not until Moses departed for land of Egypt
that his staff became ... the "staff of God".
We have these provisions and promises ... we must pray
for our children to follow God's will if they are to prosper in His kingdom
and if they are to walk in their promised land of milk and honey in the
land of the living. You can change the destiny of your children! We can
alter the course of their history ... we must take the first step ... prayer!
Know this ... when our children truly take their first
step in the Father's will, calling and path ... their staff will become
the "staff of God"! Amen!!!
Addicted to hallelujah ...
Your servant, i remain ... jim
