"What's To Become Of America"

I wrote the letter which follows and it was printed in our local
newspaper, and I thought perhaps some of you might be interested in
passing it along to others that you know.

Have you every wondered with all the threats taking place today against
our country, even from some of our own people, what is to become of
America?

We are concerned about the threats posed by North Korea, Iran and
terrorists, many of whom are already here awaiting for the command from
their leader to proceed with their plans.  We should also be very
concerned about the division that exists in our country because groups
have put their own agenda ahead of what is best for America.  A nation
divided against itself cannot stand.

However, there is a threat that is much more serious than all of these,
and that is the threat of the consequences of turning our back on God,
both individually and as a nation.  When we reject God (as revealed in
Jesus Christ), we proceed on a downward spiral which leads to terrible
consequences.  God removes His restraint of evil and allows man to run
his world.  God says OK, if  you won't have me than I'll turn things
over to you to handle instead.  The result is much of what we see today
in our world...turmoil.

There is day fast approaching when Jesus Christ will return and snatch
born-again believers out of this world and take them to heaven. (1
Thessalonians 4: 16-18).  You might be saying that this is absolutely
crazy, especially if you don't believe in the literal interpretation of
the Bible.  It was the same thing being said prior to the flood in the
time of Noah, for you see it hadn't even rained up to that time.  But
guess what?  God's word never fails...never.

Since there are millions of born-again Christians in America, can you
imagine the effect of their suddenly disappearing from the Earth?  Total
chaos will result.  The economic and emotional trauma will be
horrendous.  This would be an ideal time for our enemies to attack us.

So what is the answer?  We as a nation and as individuals must repent of
our rejection of God, and cry out to him for forgiveness while we still
have time.  We must obey the two greatest commandments that God gave to
us:  Love the Lord Your God with all your heart, soul, and mind, and you
neighbor as yourself.  (Matthew 22: 37, 39).

So what is to become of America?  Perhaps the question should be what is
to become of you?  It's really up to you (see John 3).
