After reading most of your book, I though this might be of interest. I was searching the web for possible end-time seismic signs and ran across some interesting information. It coincides with your view on the possibilty of a huge earthquake at the point of the rapture.
 
Check out the increase in volcanic activity since October 25th from USGS Global Volcanism Program. Seventeen volcanos have been raised in alert status. Most due to increased seismic activity. What caught me was the statement from Revelation 6:12 when the wrath of the Lamb is just beginning and He opens the sixth seal.
 
Since volcano activity is closely linked to seismic activity, the thought of the sun being blacked out by the ash plumes of 15 or 20 volcanos erupting simultaneously worldwide, would give even more credence to your analogy.
