Ever since the US Elections, Full Scale war seems to be accelerating in the Middle East.  We have Israel and the French UNIFIL playing games of Brinkmenship in Lebanon.  War Rhetoric is increasing out of Hamas, Syria, and Iran.  Iran claims that they will have a "Nuclear Celebration" in the first weeks of February (As if Israel will sit by and let that happen!)  Hizbollah is in the beginning stages of a coup attempt in Lebanon. It didn't help anyone's cause for peace that Israel accidentally shelled innocents in Biet Hannoun.  Egypt is now beginning to take an active active (or a virtually active) roll in stemming the flow of weapons into the Gaza Strip which looks like a step in the right direction, but that is only because the sheer volume of weapons flowing across the border has increased exponentially.

So that is where things stand now.  The Middle East looks like a warehouse that has been saturated in gasoline and filled with high explosives.  All parties are surrounding the place holding lit traffic flares.  Just daring each other to throw their flares first into the building.

And just now we get wind of an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report that they have found traces of both PLUTONIUM and enriched uranium in an Iranian nuclear waste facility.  Those are the only two elements used in Nuclear Fissile Bombs.  The interesting thing here is the traces of Plutonium found.  It is only possible to make Plutonium in sufficient quantities inside an already functioning Nuclear Reactor.  There are no reports that Iran is USING a Nuclear Reactor and the IAEA has demanded answers from Iran.  So where did IRAN get the PLUTONIUM?  I would also like to point out that Plutonium is already weapons grade!

As you can clearly see, on a near DAILY basis things are deteriorating in the Middle East.  And things are looking more and more grim for Israel.  I hardly believe Israel will be trusting in the US to ensure it's security after the election and the expected shift in US Middle East Policy that is being recommended by the Baker-Hamilton commission.  The President stated that he would implement all their recommendations and he replaced Donald Rumsfeld with a member of the commission.  I also read reports that Olmert should NOT come to the White House until after the report has been presented to the President because he wouldn't see Olmert until afterwards anyways.  I guess Israel got a hold of a copy of the IAEA report that showed the plutonium and demanded an audience with the president, which was then granted and he saw the president before the Baker-Hamilton report is presented to Bush tomorrow.  They had to talk about where they were going to go with this new development.

But we know God's word and what it says, I pray for the people of Iran and Damascus because I see what is just around the corner for them.  I believe the countdown has now begun for the Gog-Magog war!  We now get our first definitive proof of Iran's true Nuclear Weapons intentions to the point that they are producing enough Plutonium to have it appear in a nuclear waste site being monitored by IAEA.  Iran's statement of having a "Nuclear Celebration" beginning on February 10, 2007 gives us the last possible day that the war would start.

If the 40 days of rain is any indication, I see the water raising faster and faster.  Perhaps that is what is meant by "and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood! " in Daniel 9:26 just before the 70th week!!!
