"Facts on Comet Swan"

Hello John and fellow Doves,

With all the posts about 11-8, there has also been some posts about this comet.  I decided to look into it a little further.

Here is what I found out:

June 20th, 2006 - Comet SWAN was first spotted by two witnesses (R. Matson in California and M. Mattiazzo in Australia)
July 20th, 2006 - Astromers were able to visably follow  it until it was lost in the twilight
Sept. 19, 2006 -  Astromers recovered the comet visably
Oct. 23/24, 2006 - The comet brightened up to see with the unaided eye in a low light-polluted area

It is the 8th comet discovered using the SWAN device on the SOHO space craft
It is Designated C/2006 M4
It has a "Hyperbolic" trajectory (this means that it will leave our solar system for good)
It has already passed the Sun and is on its way OUT of the Solar System.
