"Enoch & Hanukkah"

Dear Doves,

I have been enjoying all of the posts about a possible connection between the Rapture and the celebration of Hanukkah. I just wanted to share something I read about a few years ago concerning Enoch. As you probably know, the prophet Enoch is widely looked upon as being the first person to be raptured or translated to heaven. "Enoch walked with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." Genesis 5:24. He was the grandfather of Noah, and was taken away prior to the Flood. What you may find interesting is that the name Enoch and Hanukkah are based upon the same Hebrew root for the word meaning "dedication." Perhaps it is more than a coincidence that there is a Jewish feast day with the same name as a person who was raptured.

Here’s hoping for a very Happy Hanukkah!

Maranatha.
