I hope you all are well as we are going through these November days hoping and waiting...
(by the way, last night there was a major power outage in Germany and Europe, fortunately not at our place)
May our Lord Jesus bless and keep and strengthen all of us by His Grace
and may the time of waiting soon be over...
....well, sometimes I have doubts, and sometimes again hope,
sometimes almost giving up and then all at once there is again comfort and hope...
Yes, there is The Comforter refreshing our hope by His Grace...
This Sunday morning in our local church I did watch the numbers of the hymns at the board:
Was there a “sign” ?
5 hymns and one Psalm... I did add the numbers: wow ! The result: 2006 !
Was this a sign ? Still a little doubting I listened to the pastor, he is in the seventies and today he was celebrating
50 years being pastor.
I guess surely he did not know about our “fivedoves-numbers” ...
As it also was the Sunday in commemoration of the Reformation of Martin Luther he preached about Martin Luther’s favourite psalm...
and how Luther then was in danger but he did trust in God and in the Lord Jesus because Jesus did overcome death by His resurrection once and for all ...
Our pastor began his sermon with these words:
“Today I want to read a few verses from Martin Luther’s favourite Psalm!
The Verses 13 through 17 of...
Psalm 118 !
Martin Luther wrote about this psalm:
This is my psalm, my chosen psalm. I love them......”
wow !!! deeply moved I listened to the verses and the sermon...
“ 13: Thou hast thrust sore at me that I might
fall: but the LORD helped me.
14: The LORD is my strength and song, and is
become my salvation.
15: The voice of rejoicing and salvation is
in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth
valiantly.
16: The right hand of the LORD is exalted:
the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.
17: I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”
Yes, so be it, Lord, by your amazing Grace.
Amen, Come quickly Lord Jesus.
