ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Saudi Arabia has reported conducting nuclear research.
Saudi officials said the kingdom has held a range of experiment in the nuclear field. They said the research was limited to the civilian application of nuclear physics.
"But the kingdom is not seeking to possess nuclear weapons," Saudi ambassador to Kuwait Abdul Aziz Al Fayez said.
Al Fayez told Kuwait's Al Qabas daily on Nov. 15 that Riyad has been conducting the nuclear experiments at the King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology [KACST] in Riyad. The ambassador merely said the experiments were in "the field of nuclear energy."
