I'm sure each of you have your own horror stories & do not need to hear mine.  This is just a sampling of some of the purely rude behavior we've run across lately:
 
Some out of town friends recently invited us to travel over & join them in a restaurant crawl in their town.  Anyway, we went to one of the last places to just grab a teeny-tiny bite of fudge (actually it was an antique-craft store, rather than a restaurant, but oh well, they participate anyway).   So we had our bite of fudge & I was over looking at merchandise, when in walked some more people ~ got their fudge, asked where the soup was (apparently that was on the list).  And the 17 y/o guy waiting the counter said they ran out.
 
The lady asked how could that happen??  When they knew they were gonna' have hundreds of ppl show up tonight for this thing.
 
So he explained the whole story -- how HE had had a BRAIN TUMOR removed this summer & after that & just getting back on track with life, then it slipped his mother's mind {who owns the place)  that the restaurant crawl was THIS week - she was thinking it was next.
 
I'm overhearing this -- and practically gasping at the brain tumor story -- but do you know NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON in that whole crowd could verbalize sympathies towards what they had gone thru???!!!
 
NOT ONE!!!
 
Instead, ALL they could even think of was WHERE WAS *THEIR SOUP*!!!!!!
 
Selfish, selfish, selfish!!!!!
 
So much like that lady (a customer of my husband's) when he was busy burying his dad & going thru' with the funeral & everything & all she could do was bawl him out for not returning her call earlier -- when he explained about his dad's funeral & all, the selfish biddy just snapped & asked, "so what's that got to do with ME??"
 
AMAZING!!!!!!     Cold, cold, cold!!   No sympathy!!   No compassion!!
 
I have to know though that God will REPAY these people!!!   And I would NOT want to be in their shoes then!!
 
We've been participating in Halloween for the last 2 years.  {I know, I know! ~ but each to his own to decide.  We have our own reasons for particiating in passing out treats.}
 
I include a Christian cassette {that I get really cheap.}  And a Scripture and/or a tract, and two or three pieces of candy.
 
Anyway, I noticed how kids who came by were on one spectrum or the other -- either very, very polite, or EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!!!
 
The teenagers wouldn't even say ANYTHING -- they'd just boldy walk right up & expect a "gift".
 
Someone (I think I may know who -- a brazen boy, about 10 who was extremely rude) ~ didn't want the cassette or the Scripture -- so just tossed it down on my porch as trash!!
 
GOD WILL REMEMBER how that boy treated His Word!!
 
Another time, another small town.  A four way stop sign.  Husband motions for the person in the other car to "come on ahead".  Driver "thanks" him using a "very precarious" (offensive) um, "hand signal".
 
I just do not GET people in these last days!!!!  But it's a world I'm quite willing to get off of!!
 
Finally, our 10 year old nephew ~ who sigh, unfortunately, is being raised very "materialistically" (as many American children are now days) ~ and who's taught to think that material *THINGS* can satisfy ~ anyway, when his mother would not allow him to get a video game that he wanted this past Sunday morning, [she reminded him that Christmas was less than 2 months away]  but, b/c he didn't get his way, he threw a huge temper tantrum, and told her that HE HATED HER.
 
:(   sad, huh?   So much for what really counts in this life ~ oh, and it's NOT video games.
 
Anyway, so that's my dissertation for this evening -- just about how RUDE & SELFISH ppl are!!!!
 
And their selfish selves can HAVE THIS WORLD!!!!!  And all the Halloween candy in it!!   And the soup -- if they can find any.  And the video games.  The rest of us just wanna' goooooo HOME!!!!!    I know the hour is very late ~ but I still expect [and hope!]  Jesus may come this year.  [this week would work JUUUUUST fine!!]
 
Here's to looking up, expecting to hear that trumpet one day soon, and HOPING!  In the meantime, maybe we can all go out & vote today -- even if we do not expect to be here much longer.
