"EINSTEINIAN THOUGHT EXPERIMENT
-- "The ham of God"?"
Greetings Doves;
Albert Einstein, the famous
physicist, was also noted for his "Thought Experiment" (they tend to save
big bucks on lab fees and equipment). In them he envisioned how light could
"bend" and how space was "curved".
Now comes an opportunity to
do a "Theological Thought experiment".
Imagine there were no "denominational
boxes" to defend, no 'dispensationalism', no "two-covenant teaching/theory"
where gentiles had "one set of rules" and Jews "another set" (Imagine reading
the most oft repeated commandment in scripture: Ex 12:14, 14:49; Lev 7:7,
14:54, 16:29, 24:22; Num 9:14, 15:15-16, 15:29, 31:21; Deut 1:16 and Isa
56:6-7. And after reading those imagine reading Eph 2:19 ).
Imagine that from "day one"
Christendom had actually obeyed Paul the Apostle in I Cor. 5:7-8 and actually
"kept the feast". Imagine the church actually obeying the command 'to keep
the Passover throughout all your generations' (Ex 12:14-17).
Now you're about 10 years old
and it's the late 1880's AD. Imagine a largely agrarian society which was
still largely possible 120 ago.
Imagine your church/Messianic
Synagogue is closely keeping the feast. A farmer brings a lamb to the churchyard.
The Priest/Pastor/Rabbi puts the knife to the lambs throat and cuts it.
He turns to the congregation and says: "I have killed the Lamb of God".
The Congregation, with over 1800's years of keeping the feast this way
quickly replies in unison: "WE have killed the Lamb of God", the priest
replies "This is so".
Now imagine it's 40 years later;
you're in the same church and its Germany in the 1930's. Antisemiticsm
rears it's ugly head and says: "The Jews are Christ killers, THEY killed
the Lamb of God". By now you and your congregation have been so well taught
that your reply is automatic and immediate: "NOT SO!! The Jews are not
alone in this; for this very day WE killed the Lamb of God!!!". The
world watches the spectre of persecution die in its cradle.
Imagine, the holocaust never
happened because Christendom took seriously the scriptural mandate to "keep
the feast throughout all your generations". Keeping just ONE
Feast day.
Now imagine that when a person
takes a "spanish-fly - viagra-like substance" for it's "sportin effects"
that they are likely ingesting the demon of sexual lust. Imagine that when
'Jesus declared all "foods" to be clean', He was not referring to some
list in "Webster's Collegiate Dictionary", but was instead referring to
the clean foods listed in Leviticus. Imagine constantly ingesting or incurring
an unclean spirit with every BLT, pork chop, catfish, set of frog legs,
(you get the idea.). Imagine drinking in an unclean spirit with every can
of beer, with every shot of wiskey ,,,, they don't call this stuff "spirits"
for nothing!. Imagine you're so addicted to sporting events on TV, that
they've become your idol. Football is now footbaal, baseball is now basebaal,
you get the idea. Imagine giving the spirit of witchcraft to yourself and
your kids as you read them harry potter to sleep at night.
Imagine that all of the above
is accurate OR EVEN HALF ACCURATE. Now imagine sitting down at your easter
(Ishtar?) supper. Out on the table is a big piece of ham (with potatoes
and all the trimmings), you think too yourself why I'm looking at the "ham
of God". For a brief moment your mind recoils at the thought -- pigs (ham)
was used to defile the temple in years past. "Its really supposed to be
the Lamb of God, and maybe, just maybe lamb should be on the table and
NOT the 'ham of God'. But were under no dietary restrictions!!! So the
conversations turns to a serious question ---- "How come there are no true
Apostles in our day and age?". There's a small, still voice which says:
"because you don't keep yourselves clean long enough to get any anointing,
much less an apostolic anointing. The problem is with your behavior, not
mine"!!!. The supper guests all say "did we hear that or was it just our
imagination".
Now its not too hard to imagine why
we don't have ample numbers of powerful apostles. Imagine what we would
have if we "kept the whole counsel of God".
Imagine that!
