"Letter to editor re Christmas"
Editor,
Many people have recently decried the removal of Christ
from this year's
Christmas Season. The politically correct "happy holidays"
slogan has
attempted to make us all forget that Jesus is the reason
for this holiday
season. We celebrate the birth of the Savior of the world
every year on
December 25. Christmas is a national holiday declared
so by Congress.
A perfect example of the attempt to remove Christ from
this Christmas season
is the full color advertisement recently included with
my Arizona Daily Sun
newspaper. Rather than primarily advertise the sale of
Holy Bibles or non
fiction books about Christ or Christians or advertise
music like Handel's
"Messiah" or even "Silent Night", this retailer instead
chose to market DVDs,
CDs and books with titles like, "The Girl Next Door:unrated
version", "Sexual
Intelligence", "Wizardology", and music from Motley Crue,
Judas Priest, Harry
Potter, and Shakira's "Oral Fixation"! One holiday CD
was actually titled "The
darkness: one way to hell and back"! What blasphemy.
The Bible says that God will not be mocked but this generation
has no fear of
the Lord. Woe unto them for they will reap what they
sow.
