"Oversimplified"

Regarding the discussion on distances from the Sun. The planets with atypical rotational periods would have to be based upon the observations of cloud features, as with Jupiter, Saturn and Venus. There is no “surface” visible. Mars, which has surface markings does indeed have a longer day. Pluto is an oddity, however based on the best images I have seen for it, who knows what the details of it really are.

I don’t see how a simple inverse square relationship can be applied to the earth’s temperature, all heat that reaches the earth is in the form of radiation, and the visible spectrum is only a fraction of the wavelengths involved. According to the inverse square model mentioned, why then is the temperature of Venus so high? It is not “closer enough” to satisfy the model. It is hot because of the retention of heat due the cloud cover, reminding me of why the local areas of the earth are so much warmer when they blanket our sky with chemtrail spray of barium and aluminum.

It is not my goal to start an argument on this issue at all. My point is that “scientific” models are really only conclusions based on observations. Jesus is the one in control and if He makes the earth hotter, He will do it irregardless of any scientific models. Joshua’s long day was a perfect example, how did the earth change rotational properties according to a scientific model.

It is my opinion that believers have to stay away from scientific hypotheses that attempt to fit the Word of God. To me, the best example of this is in Genesis. Jesus said let there be light and there was, no scientific model has any relevance to this at all, which is only one of the ongoing issues that lost people drone over and over to me about how the Word is full of errors, which it is not.

My hope is that all of us realize that Jesus is in control of everything, and He will do whatever His Will is. We can not grasp anything other than what the Holy Spirit reveals to us, so if any of us disagree on a scientific model, let’s pray for discernment and wisdom in order to humble ourselves.
