Thank you very much for your kind posting concerning my posting.  There is more that I could have written on the topic of the "shortening of the days of the Great Tribulation", so here is a bit more.  With the days being shortened to 16 hour days, does it not make sense that in time the seasons would get "out of whack" with the days (in other words, as Dean Martin once sang, "It's June in January!").  Take a look at Rev. 16:8 & 9 (men were scorched with fierce heat from the sun).  Now look at Isaiah 30:26 (the sun becomes seven times brighter).  This will happen during the Great Tribulation.  Consider this.  If however the Lord causes the earth to rotate faster on its axis (shorter days), this same event causes the earth to drop into "a lower orbit around the sun" (ie. closer to the sun), at some distance closer to the sun the sun would be seven times brighter than it is right now.  This would cause fierce heat on the earth, but also at a closer distance to the sun the length of the year is shortened!  (Venus takes less time to orbit the sun, and Mercury has only an 88 day year--Mars being further from the sun than earth, has a 24 month year).  So with the shortened days, a shorter year would balance out the seasons with the days, and we would not have "June in January"!  Now see Isaiah 13:13, which states, "....the earth will be shaken from its place....".  What is the earth's "place"?  Well, to orbit the sun at its present distance from the sun (which is between 91 and 93 million miles).  So, the earth will be moved from its place during the Great Tribulation!  Ain't God's Word awesome?  It sure is good to know that what Dean Martin sang will not come to pass!  Of course, for the inhabitants of the earth during the Great Tribulation, it will be a most unpleasant experience!  You know, there is yet more.  See Luke 21:25, ".....nations in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves...".  Guess what?  The intense heat upon the earth will be melting the polar ice caps, and the sea level will rise and many cities on the various coasts will have sea and waves coming over them!!!!!  WOW!
