Bolton warns U.N. of irrelevance

Bolton suggested that the United States is likely to begin bypassing the United Nations unless it takes steps to stay relevant and rids itself of corruption and incompetence, The Washington Post reported.

The U.S. agenda for the world body has encountered stiff resistance from the Group of 77, an alliance of developing countries. In a recent letter, the group criticized plans to create an ethics council and to review programs that are at least five years old to determine if they are useful.
