Zarqawi Rumored Killed in Mosul
US Investigating Report

U.S. forces surrounded a house in Mosul where eight insurgents died in a gun battle, and efforts were under way last night to determine whether al-Qaeda in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was among the dead. In Washington, a U.S. official said the identities of the insurgents killed in the Mosul gun battle were unknown. Asked about reports from the region that Mr. al-Zarqawi was among the casualties, the official said: "There are efforts under way to determine if he was killed."
