Excellent post, John M. Johnson.  You are so right.

Actually, the title is probably overused today.  Amongst some groups, it
seems like almost everyone is an apostle, or a prophet, or prophetess.  (I
have heard of no "apostlettes.")  It's like a status symbol.

Sometimes I think many true NT apostles do not even use the title.  These
humble people are identifiable by what they do.
