"HERESY: Coming soon to your children's schools?"

Dear friends:

The Bible Literacy Project may be coming to your local schools.  Nice name.  Sounds good, right? WRONG!

It's not what it sounds.  Instead, it is a sneak attack by the devil to twist the minds of your children and denigrate God'S Word.

The Bible Literacy Project: BAD!
The National Council On Bible Curriculum In Public Schools: GOOD!

There is a big difference.  I have been alerted to this difference by friend, Elizabeth Ridenour, President of the National Council On Bible Curriculum In Public Schools, a dear, committed Christian who is working tirelessly to alert Christians everywhere about this subterfuge.

In addition, according to AgapePress writer Jim Brown, a Christian author alleges a new curriculum put out by the Bible Literacy Project spreads communist ideals. The curriculum makes use of a textbook designed for use in public schools, entitled The Bible and Its Influence.

The curriculum uses the Hegelian, dialectical method of thesis, antithesis and synthesis to resolve conflicting views, under which a purely biblical view would be unacceptable.

According to this Christian author, Berit Kjos, several board members of the Bible Literacy Project have ties to the Communitarian movement, which she describes as an attempt to blend all religious beliefs and create a different society where the individual is de-emphasized in favor of the community or state. "That agenda," she contends, "is being implemented through this curriculum."

Berit says the purpose of the Bible Literacy Project's new course is "not to teach people about the Bible or to make students biblically literate. Rather, she asserts, is objective is to train people "to set aside what the first head of the World Health Organization, Dr. Brock Chisholm, called 'poisonous certainties' -- the 'certainties' that keep them from embracing all other religions as being equal."

The concerned author contends that The Bible and Its Influence encourages students to reinterpret the Bible using their own personal notions about what the scriptures are saying and about who God is. For example, she notes, "One question is, 'Do you think Adam and Eve received a fair deal as described in Genesis? Eve did not know good from evil. How could God blame them for disobeying?' So, immediately, you set up a conflict."

Berit also says, "The Bible faces a rising onslaught of ridicule, and legal assaults. Its most vocal antagonists include People for the American Way and the ACLU. Why would such opponents applaud a textbook titled, The Bible and Its Influence? Why such support for a revolutionary curriculum published by the Bible Literacy Project?

"The answer may lie in the word revolutionary. This new curriculum fits into a set of social and political changes that would try to affect every American. Joseph Farah, founder of WorldNetDaily, summarized it well in his exposure, of a 'political movement' called Communitarianism, 'which places the importance of society ahead of the unfettered rights of the individual.'"

The above is just a summary.  I have posted more information on my Web sites at:

Also, the Web site of the good guys, the National Council On Bible Curriculum In Public Schools is at http://www.bibleinschools.net. Their truly biblical curriculum has been voted into 316 school systems in 37 states!  Thank God for Elizabeth Ridenour.  Please keep her and Berit Kjos in your prayers.

DON'T ALLOW THE BIBLE LITERACY PROJECT IN YOUR COMMUNITY!!!

Some communities are considering it and/or voting on it right now!

Remember:
The Bible Literacy Project: BAD!
The National Council On Bible Curriculum In Public Schools: GOOD!

God bless you,
