"People are "without excuse""

Dear friends:

The teaching of "intelligent design" merely affirms the obvious -- that a super intelligence (God) designed the universe and all that is in it.

It is not just a matter of faith, but modern, enlightened scientists and logic have proven it under a mountain of accumulating evidence.

The apostle Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said, "Since the creation of the world Gods invisible qualities -- his eternal power and divine nature -- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse" (Romans 1:20, NIV).

By God's own words, anyone who denies "intelligent design" is "without excuse."  That is a frightening position to be in before the omnipotent Creator.  But people get that way by choice, by deciding they do not want a holy God in their lives to whom they are accountable.

With that in mind, consider this news report today:

"All eight Dover, Pa., school board members up for re-election were defeated Tuesday after trying to introduce 'intelligent design' -- the belief that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power -- as an alternative to the theory of evolution.  Eight families had sued the district, claiming the policy violates the constitutional separation of church and state."

If this is a microcosm of the prevailing attitude of people across the nation, it is a sad and dramatic commentary of the apostasy today and the future of the nation and world.

Afterward, Pat Robertson remarked that if some disaster comes to that town, "I recommend they call on Charles Darwin.  Maybe he can help them."
