“Blessed Assurance”
I think about the future;
That coming glorious day,
When my Savior comes to me,
And calls my soul away.
‘Tis a sweet and glorious thought,
For I have no fear, you see;
I just long to see my Savior,
Who died to set me free.
It really doesn’t matter,
I’ve come to understand;
How the Savior takes me,
To that blessed promised land.
I know that when He calls me,
By rapture or by death;
He shall cloth me with His glory,
When I draw my final breath.
The door of Heaven will open,
The clouds will roll away;
I’ll see that golden city,
On that great eternal day.
My Savior will meet me there,
I’ll feel His sweet embrace;
I’ll bare His glorious image,
As I look upon His face.
Then I’ll meet my loved ones,
All those who died in grace;
What a great reunion,
In that happy holy place.
As I think upon these things,
I have no fear nor dread;
Only sweet assurance,
Of what lies just ahead.
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus,”
Take your people to the sky;
I’m ready; yea, I’m eager,
To take my flight on high.

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine!
O what a foretaste of glory divine!
Heir of salvation, purchase of God,
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
