"To Simon: re 2701"
Simon,
You have inquired about a magnificent number -- 2701. You
probably know that it is the Gematria value for "In the beginning
God created the heaven and the earth." This is actually 37 x 73.
If we look at its mirror opposite we get 1072. So -- look at the following equations:
37 x 73 = 2701
2701 + 1072 = 3773
I think this is magnificent! Of course we are talking about creation. Creation
is said, in the Bible, to be by "Wisdom." The word "wisdom"
in the Hebrew text of the Old Testament has a Gematria value of 73 and a place
value of 37. It bears the two numbers of creation. The number three is the first
number with shape, and the number seven is the number for perfection. It indicates
that when God created the material universe, he did it in perfection. So, let's
add all the numbers from 1 to 73 and what is our total? It is 2701, the number
that describes creation.
Above, we used the number 2701 and its mirror opposite 1072 to obtain 3773.
The Gematria for these numbers found in the Bible is most interesting.
2701 = In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2701 = Worthy is the Lamb that was slain (Revelation 5:12)
2701 = The grace of Christ (Galatians 1:6)
1072 = And come, buy, with no money and no cost (Isaiah 55:1)
Jesus was the very first creation of God -- and it was this "only
begotten son" who was the active agent of the Father in all the
works of creation. We are told this in the first chapter of the Gospel of John
-- "All things were made by him, and without him was nothing made."
But He is the restorer of all things also. He provided salvation for all of
Adam's race. We don't have to pay the price for sin, He already paid it when
he hung on the cross and said "It is finished." He paid
the price -- we get salvation -- it is free. Therefore Isaiah could prophesy,
"Come, buy, with no money and no cost" -- he was talking
about obtaining life. John, in his Revelation vision, saw an angel who proclaimed
"Let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take of
the water of life freely." Salvation is the "free gift"
that the Apostle Paul told us about in Romans 5:18 -- "Therefore
as by the offence of one (Adam) judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of one (Jesus) the free gift came upon all men
to justification of life."
It appears that God has used these two numbers -- 2701 and 1072 -- to give us
a panoramic view of His whole plan for the creation and restoration of man through
his only begotten son, Jesus Christ.
