TO TEFE RE: APOCRYPHAL BOOKS

I most definitely agree with you about the fact that some of the writings of the early Christians, and earlier, are well worth our study.  Enoch is referred to in Hebrews 1 and the book of Jude.
And the book of Jasher is twice quoted as "scripturally relevant" in the O.T.:
Josua 10:13 - And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher ‡35? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. 2Sam 1:18 -(Also he bade them teach the children of Judah the use of the bow: behold, it is written in the book of Jasher. ‡4)

I have  a book with Esdras, Judith, the "rest of the Chapters of the book of Esther", Baruch, and some others.    To me these are so much fun to read !   The writers of these old books of wisdom and history are so WAY much more intelligent than I, and so often agree with the scriptures which I have read, in tone and subject.   If I see something that I question or cannot understand I just skip over it.   These are historical books, and very fascinating !
