"The origin of Stonehenge"

Portals of Heaven and Pillars of Earth

Regarding the origin of Stonehenge; Stonehenge was supposedly built by Neolithic men using deer antlers and rock hammers. Science has yet to figure out how these primitive people stood 90,000 pound carved stones on end, and then suspend equally massive carved stones on top of them to form this impressive structure. What could have possibly motivated these Stone Age men to build a monument so strong that it would endure five millennia?

Because it doesn’t fit the archeological “norm” for primitive men to build a structure of this sophistication, archeologists are content to diminish its stature by portraying Stonehenge as a composite construction built over many centuries by different tribal groups. I think that notion is absurd considering the fact that this structure has design characteristics requiring systematic precision and the skill of a master astronomer. For Stonehenge to operate as an observatory, as it does, the structure had to be built at this precise location on the 51st latitude. Moreover, the five massive Trilithons at the center of Stonehenge, the most impressive and difficult achievement, were erected first and the remaining construction was built around them in an integrated design. The C-14 date for the erection of the central Trilithons is about 5000 years ago; opinions vary but the official date given for its construction is 2800 BC. I believe Stonehenge was actually built about 5300 years ago.

The large stones weigh up to 45 tons, 90,000 lbs., and many of the stones were transported from a location 245 miles away! The only tools found associated with the construction of this astronomical observatory are Deer Antler Scrapers and enormous (50 lbs) stone hammers. It’s interesting to contemplate how Stonehenge may have been built, but shouldn’t we really be asking ourselves why? Could it be that these people were not as primitive as we think, and is it possible they possessed knowledge lost until our present time? What message is carved in the stone and made to endure to the end of the age? Does Stonehenge contain a message reserved for those people who would be witnessing the end of days?

Monuments of the Sons of Seth

The Book of Jasher describes Cainan, who is Seth’s Grandson Kenan, as the possessor of great astrological wisdom, which he inscribed on tables of stone,

“And Cainan knew by his wisdom that God would destroy the sons of men for having sinned upon earth, and that the Lord would in the latter days bring upon them the waters of the flood. And in those days Cainan wrote upon tablets of stone, what was to take place in time to come, and he put them in his treasures.”

The obvious questions are, what were these tables of stone, how did they reveal astronomical wisdom, and what did Kenan’s stone treasury look like?

In the history book Antiquities of the Jews by Flavius Josephus, the great Jewish historian of the first century, he speaks of the children of Seth and includes this curious passage:

“ … so did he (Seth) leave children behind him who imitated his virtues.  They also were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order. And that their inventions might not be lost before they were sufficiently known, upon Adam’s prediction that the world was to be destroyed at one time by the force of fire, and at another time by the violence and quantity of water, they made two pillars, the one of brick, the other of stone: they inscribed their discoveries on them both, that in case the pillar of brick should be destroyed by the flood, the pillar of stone might remain, and exhibit those discoveries to mankind; and also inform them that there was another pillar of brick erected by them. Now this remains in the land of Siriad to this day.”  Antiquities of the Jews – Book I, Chapter 2

Josephus wrote this account in Greek, but the word pillar he use would have been translated from the Hebrew word “Matstsebah”, Strong’s H4676, which is a monument with an alter. The Hebrew word Matstsebah suggests the children of Seth built a monument, not necessarily a large rock or brick slab with symbols written on it; in fact it would probably be somewhat elaborate and massive.

Do we know of any monuments built of stone pillars, exhibiting astronomical information, designed to withstand the ravages of the flood and the erosion of 5 millennia? Obviously there is only one such structure, Stonehenge.

Stonehenge is a colossal celestial clock metering out 6000 years of time. For more information on the monuments of the Sons of Seth, email me at: revilo2009@q.com and I will send you the Scroll of Jubilees.
