"Israel Memorial Day and Independence Day"

 
Hello, John and Doves,
 
There is much well-intentioned misinformation about the date of Israel's Independence Day.
That holiday is always in Iyyar, not "May."  As such, the observed date of this holiday is referred to using "Iyyar" or "Iyar."

If you look at the Jewish calendar, you can see that in 5771, Yom Hazikaron and Yom Ha-Atzma'ut are on 5 and 6 Iyyar.
This translates to 9 and 10 May, 2011.
