"lest we lose focus amidst the bad news"

Hello, John and Doves,
Here is a scripture that bears looking at besides at Christmastime:
    "For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
    "Of the increase of [His] government and peace [There will be] no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this."
                                                                                            Isaiah 9:6-7
Sometimes, it is easy to forget that the LORD has more of a stake in bringing His Word to pass than we have.
It is written,
    "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
    "That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth;
    "And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father."  Philippians 2:9-11
And yet you may read,
    "I will worship 7812 toward thy holy 6944 temple 1964, and praise 3034 thy name 8034 for thy lovingkindness 2617 and for thy truth 571: for thou hast magnified 1431 thy word 565 above all thy name 8034."  Psalm 138:2
    "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
    "Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
    "Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
    "Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they."  Hebrews 1:1-3
A king who has sat down has already won the war.  Armageddon is simply dotting the i's and crossing the t's.
    "Who [is] this King 4428 of glory 3519? The LORD 3068 strong 5808 and mighty 1368, the LORD 3068 mighty 1368 in battle 4421."  Psalm 24:8
