I will check out the site you mentioned.  My immediate thoughts about Assad being the Antichrist are that he will most likely perish when Damascus is destroyed.  Plus, he seems to be too submissive to  Ahmadinejad and the Mullahs.  And he apparently wants the Golan Heights back at all costs, not being willing to compromise on it at all with Israel.  He would certainly have to do a complete political about-face in order to get the Jews to trust him.  These things, and others, lead me to think he is not a good candidate. 

 

I do believe that the antichrist may very well come from Syria.  I used to believe that he would be European as has been taught by prominent prophecy teachers, but from certain information that has been pointed out from other sources, his being an Arab, a Jew, or a mix of the two seems very likely.
