Concerning your opening statement:
 
Firstfruits is calculated from the new moon after the vernal equinox.
 
Please show me chapter and verse where the vernal equinox is ever used to compute any of the Biblical 'feasts'.  Firstfruits is determined per Leviticus 23, but I find no mention of the solar calendar.
