"72/73 What Does It Mean?"

“My first hundred days were very successful. So successful, that I believe my next hundred days will be so successful that I will be able to complete them in 72 days. And on the 73rd day, I will rest.”

Dear Doves,

Like many of you, I was shocked when I heard “O’s” Speech at the Correspondent’s Dinner earlier this month. I immediately knew that the president had just blasphemed God by likening his own work to that of the Father in the book of Genesis. (On the 73rd day I will rest!) I also knew that these numbers he was using were significant. The number 3 represents the Trinity and the number 7 is completion. So these are pretty heavy numbers to be throwing around. It could not have been just an accident. Or was it? Did he even know what he was saying or is he being manipulated by a power beyond his control or comprehension? But the number 72 was a problem for me. I knew it had significance, but what was it? Then Joe Hoyle posted his summary of religious meanings for the number 72, http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/may2009/jhoyle521-2.htm and everything started to become clear. It is not a well known number to most Christians or Gentiles except for the fact that many believe this is the number of hours that Christ was in the grave and it is the conventional number of disciples sent forth by Jesus in Luke 10.

But 72 is a huge number to fanatical Muslims and many who practice Eastern Religions that border on Witchcraft like Taoism and Confucianism. 72 is the number of warriors who will fight along side the Islamic “Mahdi” or Islamic Messiah. 72 is the number of virgins a Moslem warrior/martyr receives from Allah upon his death, etc. 72 is a number that is readily understood by radical Moslems, but completely missed by most of us. Was “O” telegraphing a message to Moslems around the World? Was he telling them to wait just a little longer? Was he telling them that his work will be complete, his time fulfilled, on his 172 day in office? Was he preparing them for a “call to arms?”

“And on the 73rd day, he will rest.” I don’t know about you, but this one really gets me. There is the obvious reference to the Father from Genesis, but there is more. Often, “rest” is a reference to death! Is it possible that “O” was foretelling his own death either knowingly or unknowingly? Could this be a reference to Rev. 13, 3-4?   3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. 4And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? Is he this beast of revelation? Will he be killed and then rise? Did he say this knowingly or unknowingly? What kind of signal was he sending forth and to whom? And one more thing: Did anyone notice that he appears to be playing with time? (Another Godly thing?) He will do 100 days in a mere 72.

Personally, I expect to watch all this unfold from the balcony of Heaven and hope to see you all there, but I think all of this to be very interesting in light of who many of us believe “O” to be and the unfolding prophecy all around us.

Blessings,
