"Tribute to a Great Lady"
I was somewhat shocked today to learn that one of my favorite Shroud
researchers, Sue Benford of Columbus, OH, crossed over into eternity on
4/6/09. She was only fifty-one years old. I had met her last August on the OSU
campus at the wonderful conference that she and her husband had organized. She
greatly impressed me with her kindness, intelligence, courage, humility, and
faith. She was brave enough to go against the establishment and present a new
theory that has successfully challenged the carbon 14 dating of 1988.
If
you have time, click on the www.shroud.com
website, then click on the "sad news". The memorial paragraphs by Russ Brealt
give only a glimpse of what a wonderful lady Sue was. Although it is sad to
lose her, I am sure she will be waiting for us on the other side of this life.
Her research on the Shroud was remarkable.
