"Steve Barryman:  Day of Preperation..."

Here is where I believe man has gone wrong in leaving out an adjustment to the start of the Sacred Calendar so that each sacred year it would start on a Thursday leading to a Passover Preparation day on a day 4 Wednesday (14th of Abib/Nissan) and Passover on Thursday (15th day).   If one does not do this, then all God's appointed, ordained and foreshadowed days of the week for key events falls apart.  Worst of all, our Passover celebration then dishonors the day that Jesus actually died and by God's word concerning creation day 4, it then is a slap in the face to Jesus' right to rule.

Steve, you sound as if you believe Jesus died on a Wednesday.   You seem to be declaring that the “foreshadows” fall apart if we would adhere to a Friday Crucifixion.  Furthermore, you seem to be declaring that we are slapping Jesus in the face by adhering to a Friday Crucifixion.   I will be glad to take this discussion “off-line” if you wish to email me directly.

Whether intentional or not, because of your passionate belief, you have made a completely UNTRUE statement about everyone that does not believe the same way you do.  I personally do NOT believe that Jesus died on a Wednesday, nor a Thursday, but on a FRIDAY.  Most certainly NOT because I go around ignorantly slapping at the face, Jesus’ right to rule.   That is why I am saying for you to be careful about what you say, because you made a completely untrue statement.

I have personally done my homework in this matter…. extensive homework.   The ONLY scripture that you have to base your belief is the scripture about the SIGN OF JONAH.   By this one scripture ALONE, you disregard all other direct statements made by Jesus or the disciples about the date of the crucifixion.  Then you draw from conclusions you have made as to why the Sun, Moon, and stars were made on the fourth day.  If I remember correctly, the Bible is silent about “why”, and therefore the foreshadows are hazy at best.

For arguments sake, let’s say you are right.   Let’s say that Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday.   What is considered the “first day”?   How do you count?    My “first day” was the day I was born.   The “first day” of creation was a Sunday.   The “first day” of the week is a Sunday.   The “first day” of the May is “May 1.”

What is the “Second day”?   How do you count?

What is the “Third day”?  Herein lies the answer.  Without regard to the time I was born on Aug 22, 1969, my “third day” was on Aug 24, 1969.   The “third day” of Creation was a Tuesday.   The “third day” of the week is a Tuesday.  The “third day” of May is May 3.

Those who adhere that Jesus died at 3pm on Wednesday, also must have Him raised from the dead “before” the first day of the week, because no matter what, you cannot mathematically have him raised from the dead on Sunday, without being four days in the grave.    For arguments sake, let’s say that mathematically Jesus managed to be raised from the dead, fulfilled the SIGN OF JONAH, and on the FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK appeared to Mary.

According to the disciples on the road to Emmaus after Jesus was raised from the dead, they made a statement.  To the best of our ability to determine, this event occurred sometime Sunday afternoon.

Luk 24:20  And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.

Luk 24:21  But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, today is the third day since these things were done.

NOW WE HAVE A PROBLEM.   If Jesus was crucified on a Wednesday, then the disciples have made a false statement.

If Sunday afternoon is STILL the third day, what day is the “first day”?

If we are looking at foreshadows, on what day was God’s work FINISHED???

Perhaps we don’t fully understand the SIGN OF JONAH.   Perhaps it is also a riddle that demands a closer examination.  Let me ask you a question… think about “location”….  In the United States, is it day or night right now?   In China, is it day or night right now?  In the “center of the Earth”, is it day or night RIGHT NOW?

How did you answer that question?

The center of the Earth is the ONLY location that is both Day and Night, at the SAME TIME.

Blessings,
