"The Texas (Diasetta) Sinkhole"

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/5766414.html

This sinkhole has such things as telephone poles, oil equipment, and cars in it,

plus more. Years ago this town was known for its oil production and also about 3

years ago, Rita passed thru the town doing a lot of damage. The town is in

Liberty County near Houston. Wondering if the Liberty of Tx. going to sink?

Interesting also that there is a salt dome in middle of this sinkhole. This saltdome

sucks in the oil in the ground, if I am correct in my understanding. Is Liberty,

phone communication, transportation (cars) and oil production just flat out leaving

Texas. Lots of things to think about if you read all of the articles.

This second link comments that 'Oil drilling in the area, still dotted with working oil derricks, might have weakened the dome and caused it to collapse, 'http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,354699,00.html

For sure the salt of the earth as a whole in Texas has lost it's preservative qualities as Tx. was the buckle of the Bible belt. Things have changed
.
over the last ten years or so.
