"There's more to Jesus than the Rapture / Farewell"

Its unfortunate that most people do not search for the Truth objectively.  Debates/discussions are an excellent way to utilize the intellect God gave us.  But most people choose to neglect the intellect and just take for granted their convenient conclusions as being truthful.  They store them away in a tamper-proof mental lockbox, and become very emotional and defensive when the contents of the box are questioned.

I am very much looking for the Rapture to occur in our immediate future.  And I love talking about it and watching for it.  But I also love searching for the absolute and infinite Truth about other things....for 2 reasons:  1) because I yearn to discover and experience the Pure & Simple Beauty of the Mind of God, and 2) because I believe that an active desire to know and understand our Creator is the most important undertaking a Christian can do.  Yes, we are to watch for the Bridegroom.  But are we to neglect a quest for knowledge of the many other aspects of God as we are watching and waiting?  I don't want Jesus to look at me and say something like, "I realize how much you wanted to see Me and Be with Me, but I am disappointed that you had no desire to search for a deeper knowledge and understanding of the vastness of your Creator and Savior."

Plato once said, "The essence of wisdom is the realization of one's ignorance."  Truer words were never spoken.  We will be accountable to God for how we used our intellect.  He gave us each one and expects us to use it.

The prerogative of my site is primarily the rapture. If you are trying to steer it in your direction, you may be in the wrong forum.

I will not be participating in Five Doves any longer.

As you all have noticed, I felt led to talk about other issues than just the Rapture.  Some of you, and Lurkers also, appreciated the things I wrote about.  I hope that what I said in my letters has been of some benefit to you.

John told me that his intentions for this site are Rapture Talk primarily.  That's fine.  There is MUCH being posted about the Rapture already on this site, and I am unable to come up with anything new and enlightening on this topic, having already debated the issue of the identity and composition of the Bride.  I personally feel that there are other issues being neglected by Christians that are just as important as the Rapture.  Some are too busy looking up and failing to look INTO!!  Its important to watch for His appearing for sure!!  But please don't neglect to also search for a deeper knowledge and understanding of the vastness of your Creator and Savior.

I appreciate everyone's interest in the obvious soon Return of Our Lord, and have found many of your posts to be quite informative.  And I told John that I appreciate him temporarily allowing some of us the space to discuss other issues too.

If any of you would like to contact me about anything, please ask John to send you my email address.

God Bless all of you and I pray that you will always have an insatiable thirst for a deeper understanding of our infinite God.

Watching with you and shall soon see you,
Rick Hedrick
