Janet, your post is right on. We started off as a democracy - a republic with the intention of rule by the people, for the people, etc. - meaning - the majority rules. Because of a congress that has gone to sleep at the wheel - and millions of Americans who are lulled into apathy, and a Supreme Court that our founders NEVER intended to have the LAST say on the law of the land - we NOW have a small MINORITY of people making laws and telling the majority what to do and how to live!

The only way to get the majority rule back is to reorganize the Supreme Court - limit their tenure to 4 years, strip them of their "almighty" powers, which the U.S. people never intended them to have ----and once again - let the voice of the MAJORITY rule. What happened in California recently is a very GOOD example of what I am talking about. PEOPLE VOTED AGAINST making homosexual marriage legal. The California "Supreme Court" OVERTURNED THE VOTE of the people and made it LEGAL. This is totally BACKWARDS to what our founding fathers intended! The only way to fight this is for EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE to get busy and WAKE UP and start writing your senators and congressman and get out there and protest - turn off the TV --get out of your apathy and get busy, busy, busy!!!
